“The point I’m intent on making is not worth the life of any Nigerian” – 2Baba cancels #IStandWithNigeria protests over security concerns

Superstar musician 2Baba has cancelled the #IStandWithNigeria protests scheduled to hold in Lagos and Abuja on Monday February 6th 2017.
2Baba said that the decision was made after discovery that the protests were under threat of hijack by elements not aligned with the interests of the protesters.
2Baba had faced criticisms from members of the academia, his former colleague, Blackface and the presidency (through President Buhari‘s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie) over the planned action.
The Lagos State Police Command had also advised the music star to halt the action, saying thay hoodlums are planning to hijack the protests to perpetuate their criminal activities.
The Force Headquarters, Abuja on Friday released a statement advising the 2Baba led protesters and another pro-government group of protesters who had planned to carry out their action on February 5th and 6th to shelve their plans.
The police had said that the decision was made to prevent the breakdown of law and order during the protests.

Olamide And Davido Seal Endowments Deal With Glo

 

Telecom giant, Glo has capitalized on their competitions delay to seal mega deals with two giants in the Nigeria entertainment scene.

Olamide who recently used to be an Etisalat ambassador and Timaya who refused to pen a new contract with MTN after negotiations came to a stalemate have both agreed on a new deal with Glo.

Four entertainment stars were named as new brand ambassadors of, Globacom, during a press meet in Lagos yesterday.

The new ambassadors are celebrated rapper, Olamide Adedeji, dancehall musician, Inetimi Alfred Odon, popularly known as Timaya, and two Ghanaian actresses, Juliet Ibrahim and Joselyn Dumas.

The company management said the four were made its ambassadors because of their inspirational role in growing the entertainment industry in Nigeria and Ghana. It said that both Olamide and Timaya had made a huge success of their music career and were standard bearers for millions of Nigerian youths.

After Daddy Showkey intervened in the ongoing battle between Harrysong and Five Star Music it seems all his well as things have gone back to its original default settings.
Harrysong issued a public apology to E Money and Kcee for dragging his former label into the nasty mess that landed him in police custody twice in one week.



Recent development has now seen Harrysong dump his own alterplate and return to his old label, Five Star Music. The popular singer has deleted alterplate off all his social media accounts and replace them with Five Star Music like it was before.
This confirms that the hatchet has been buried and Harrysong is once again a member of E Money’ Five Star Music group… All is well that ends well…

Woman Claims Kidnappers of three Abuja Friends are Demanding $300,000 (N150m) Ransom | “It’s a lie” – Victim’s sister reacts

A Facebook user, Alhaja Adeola Agoro JP, has claimed that unknown men who kidnapped three friends at a creamery near Wuse 2, Abuja, have contacted the family, demanding $300,000 (around N150m using current black market rate) as ransom.
Suspected kidnappers, who abducted three friends when they went to buy ice cream and cake in Abuja, have finally contacted families of the victims, demanding $30,000.
Two of the victims – Veronica Otogo and Bisola Mohammed – had gone to the creamery to get ice cream and cake in celebration of Veronica’s birthday.
It was, however, learnt that the ladies were later joined by Bisola’s friend, Damilola Oribuyaku.

Adeola Agoro in her post said:

Join Our Prayers for the Safety of Damilola.
Engr. Oribuyaku is a family friend. His son, Damilola who just returned from schooling abroad went to have ice-cream at Coldstone, Wuse II Abuja on Friday with two of his female friends. As they were about to get into their cars, a jeep blocked them.
The rest was like like a horror film. They were taken and driven off. The abductors are demanding for $300,000.
Engr. Oribuyaku is a hardworking man who has built his businesses with clean money. He doesn’t have that kind of money.
Please, join us in praying for the safety of these young people in the hands of these criminals. May God let us find them alive and in one piece.
N.B: One of our brothers was hit on the head with the butt of a gun in front of this same ice-cream parlour at Gwarimpa last year. Criminals now target places frequently visited by the middle class. Let us be security conscious as Nigeria is going through a very hard period. May God save us all from evil, amen.

Damilola’s sister, known as Bolaji (@_oribz) on Twitter has come out to say it’s not true. She was reacting to a story reported by a national newspaper that the kidnappers demanded $30,000 as ransom.

Meet Myoa, the Nigerian Soul Pop Singer that will be Performing at an Event for the American Superbowl

Currently residing in Houston, Texas and quickly amassing a local following, Myoa will be performing at a private event hosted by Pepsi for the annual championship game Super Bowl that will be held in Houston Texas on the 5th of February.
Myoa is a Singer/Songwriter whose musical journey has catapulted her from the beautiful coast of West Africa to England and finally to the immensely diverse and invigorating music scene of the USA.

The eldest of three, Myoa began singing in school choirs, competitions, and concerts, penning her first song at the age of 9. Her deep-seeded desire for a music career continued, but she opted for a traditional career path and headed off to pursue a college degree.
Studying at the University of Plymouth, she honed her songwriting and keyboard skills, upon graduation she pursued a career in Finance for a while. Feeling there was more to life, Myoa opted for another path. Resigning from her job, she packed her bags and decided to explore opportunities to study music in Los Angeles, USA.

Ambode approves death penalty or kidnappers.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Wednesday signed the anti-kidnapping bill recently passed by the Lagos State House of Assembly into law.

The governor vowed to ensure it full implementation to stop the activities of kidnappers in the state.
The Prohibition of the Act of Kidnapping Law imposes a penalty of life imprisonment on kidnapping for ransom.

The law also stipulates that where a victim dies in the course of kidnap, the suspect is liable on conviction to death.

Harrysong And Manager Re-arrested Last Night

Singer Harrysong , has reportedly been re-arrested.
The ‘Reggae Blues’ crooner, was said to have been arrested alongside his manager, Desmond Ike, with both according to a source who spoke to LIB, passing the night at the Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan , Lagos. They were picked up on fresh criminal charges and might be charged to court this morning.

‘ They were re arrested on fresh criminal charges of fraud, forgery and impersonation. I heard them saying they forged E-Money’s signature to collect money from a brand ‘ the source said.
